DJ ICEY @ CREAM brought CHILLS to the Valley and it appeared CREAM Stereo Lounge needed to cool down its BaBaBaBass-Bins for DJ Icey’s classic track selection, stuff that Icey and Baby Anne would tag with back in the day. It was a tastefully diverse crowd that made it out to see DJ Icey, and he did not disappoint especially with support from Matty and Louder. Pushing Break Beats to Progressive Breaks, to Nu-Skool Breaks, to Break Yo-Self; “Is that the Shins I hear coming in?” WHAT?! DJ Icey was focused on showcasing to AZ his new tricks, blends, and remixes. His set this night reminded me that Breaks are in-part one the fundamentals of all electronic music. Thanks, I had fun.
