GIANT|ONE; ONE|GIANT, no matter how you put it CREAM STEREO LOUNGE had a buzz Wednesday Night. Electricity was in the air. The Brilliant ecstatic-feelings which create blue streaks on people’s like that warm-n-fuzzy blanket popped fresh out of the dryer; on cold nights. Of course, it’s the middle of July in Phoenix and 104 degrees at midnight might’ve had something to do about that; at least the warm part. ONE | AZ reappointed, and announced for that matter; their re-involvement and claim of their undisputed title of Thee “Crème-de-la-crème of positive-dripping, sweaty-grooving and flared-party styles. ONE | AZ adds that special something, the elements; that little twist of the nipple, and lick of the ear, that is often duplicated but rarely seen as 100% executable because ONE | AZ’s evenings are journeys that are dynamic and indefinable. A new fundamentally, Mos-definitely mentionable element is ONE | AZ’s new resident Visual Artist Chad Jordan, which I feel is a long-lost live-art. Chad had glow-face because well; in front of your computer screen is where you deliver Ad-Hoc and on-the-fly, HD imagery. And speaking of long-live live-art, Banding Hendrix was ‘to be’ with and proofed; amused. Joe DiPadova (Deeper Shades Recordings, Curious UK, & Got Soul Records) played maestro to this Wednesday nights’ beautiful groovers. In Concerto were ONE | AZ’s quartet comprised of smooth Shea Marshall on Sax, Steve Limpert doing crazy things on trumpet, & “Gannon the (REAL; Gentle-GIANT) Drummer.” Early support artist’s included ONE | AZ residents DJ Brazilia and Jonny Rogers. As always, cover at the door = first drink on the house. “ONE | AZ showcasing their New Logo, New Look, New Sound, New Team, New ONE, I Say Nice One Bro…I Say Fuckin’ Nice!

The Hot Spot in Tempe was Mos Def Mill Avenue’s…WHIP LOUNGE who had (Mr.) DJ Eaton of Emergen-C Entertainment. Reactshun was Mos Def in Full Affect, sweet and friendly were the Reaxion Girls getting body paintings done. (A Whip Lounge Tradition) Speaking of Traditional…The 5th Annual Pimp & Ho Contest where the slickest couple won 2 tickets to Cancun! Hmmm, I’m missing something ah yea, all the red and black lingerie and creamy flesh was courtesy of the 7th Heaven girls.
Located on the Northwest corner of Mill and 5th in Tempe, There is always GREAT DRINK SPECIALS ALL NIGHT! I don’t know what they were because the real deals came from the ‘Brown Paper Bag’ event planners. I’m not sure they wanted to give away a barge worth of imported Chinese wonder sticks, but never-the-less, MC Eaton was giving away plenty of synthetic to an already lady heavy ratio crowd which pushed us and made the after party not stop. Seriously we’re all still going, it’s 4 to 1 guy ratio around here! DJ Sugar from 101.5 Let security at the door know that he wanted to throw down some special tracks and cleverly kept us going that he just randomly showed up…Nothing was 100% planned, but everything happens at Whip Lounge on Fridays!

The East Valley certainly has the market cornered on Irish chain pubs. (You know quasi-Celtic party bars/eateries that lay on the shamrock shtick as thick as a pint of Guinness. My colleague Stephen Lemons once described them as ‘Irish Disneyland’s’) Just off the top of our head there’s Tilted Kilt’s three different locations, as well as D’Arcy McGee’s at the Tempe Marketplace, Skeptical Chymist, and Fibber Magee’s.
The Westside has been lacking in these type of places…until tonight that is, as McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon is celebrating its grand opening with a three-night blowout. The Irish-themed Westgate establishment (which also has locations in NYC, Philly, Vegas, and at least a dozen other cities) has finally made its way to P-Town.
The revelry starts tonight with a little sexiness: Playboy playmate Jade Nicole will be the special guest of the evening. ‘Calendar Girl Search’ transpired (with a $500 in cash and six months of free tanning offered as prizes).Free drinks are also available from 9-10 p.m., but you’ll have to call the VIP hostess Madison at 623-872-0022.

Psy-Trance innovators Infected Mushroom one of the biggest electronic band on the planet trashed Stratus’ beautifully designed space but in the most-sickest way! Additionally noted is the hardcore talent Relentless Beats Turner and Heit chemically mixed together that properly complemented the 5 elements of a perfect event. Infected Mushroom, whose been twice ranked among the world’s 10 best DJs by the bible of the scene, the U.K.’s DJ Magazine, the Israel-bred, L.A. based duo bring a frenetic rock energy to the form. Their explosive show, featuring guitars, live drums, intensely passionate vocals and an ambitious multimedia backdrop, ranks among the genre’s most unpredictably joyous events. And their recordings continually venture where other electronic acts fear to tread.
Saturday night attendees received this and more. Their latest album from Amit “Duvdev” Duvedevani and Erez Eisen have been working for nearly two years on an aggressive new album – their first since 2007’s critically acclaimed Vicious Delicious – for dance-music visionary Paul Oakenfold’s Perfecto label. Duvdev describes the as-yet untitled record, recorded at Infected Mushroom Laboratory in L.A. and slated for a June 2009 release, as a return to the pair’s metal roots. Guests include singer Jonathan Davis of Korn, who lends his estimable pipes to the track “Smashing the Opponent.”
Stratus is a fusion of industrial, progressive state-of-the-art design. Custom lighting, intricate attention to detail and creative design give the space an upscale feel within a real converted warehouse. Founding Fathers of Stratus did Phoenix a mystical and priceless service all the while working against all odds, unforeseen set-backs, and the constant ‘Wrench in the War Machines Engine’.
One last note…thank you for a wonderful Full Moon party; most of us noticed and appreciate it ;)~

The Shape: UK stirred up, bent, twisted and molded systematically religious attendees of house heads. Something personally I am drawn to is the sick timeless house music of the 90’s, with four-on-the-floor beats, a touch of disco flava’ via minimal yet epically-haunting female vocals, with dropped in danceable beats, and excellent rises and stalls into another ‘ol familiar track. I never met a Lola but she was running things last night, and I do believe the beautiful ladies in attendance had Lola’s Theme emanating from their smiles, hearts, minds, souls, shoes, and sexy ass-well just some very sexy asses. CREAM is cool as Ice. Now that the 100 degree nights have made their presence felt, cream delivers the good shit…the compressed air blasts that makes even my nipples hard. Shape: Sick.
